This handmade accordion folded pocket booklet was created in collaboration with Matthew Perry in 2019 (finished in 2021).
The initial inspiration came from images and snippets of sentences and words we had shared with each other over the course of a few months, filling up a shared online folder, not yet knowing what the outcome would be.

The topic and flow of the booklet then slowly created itself as it went through many iterations and edits. Initially conceived for larger size, the dummy eventually became the end-product, when noticing that the size lends itself far better to its then slowly transpiring purpose: to remind us of being present, by being present itself wherever and whenever needed. Keeping it (literally) pocket-sized, it conveniently fits into a closed palm, a wallet, a purse, a lunch box, …

Part of the inspiration that transpired early on, once the fragments started to gather, was that of a déjà vu, a visual representation of a dream, where images and words keep overlapping and repeating themselves. The covers are made up of two magnetic sheets, compressing the light weight paper into booklet shape when closed, and allowing the pages to be connected into a continuous loop when opened. The pages are printed double sided and can be read in any direction or order. Each of the spreads stand for itself, yet also form one continual sentence, if wanting to read it as such.
